Dion Banks Chosen for Leadership Maryland
We’re excited to announce that Cambridge International’s Director of Governmental Affairs, Dion Banks, was chosen for the Leadership Maryland’s (LMD) class of 2012, an independent statewide program that works to develop informed senior-level leaders.
Dion was born and raised in Dorchester County and prides himself on his sense of community and helping to make Maryland a better state for its residents. He has been with Cambridge International for 10 years and in that time, has played a distinct role in developing new technologies to help both the public and private sectors. His dedication to his job, family, church and community were integral in choosing Dion for this impressive honor.
Each year, 50 people from thousands of applicants are selected to participate in the Leadership Maryland program – an eight-month educational series that focuses on Maryland’s most vital issues, such as education, environment, and economic development. Its goal is to develop leaders with statewide knowledge and engage them in determining how to make the state of Maryland a better home for its residents.
“Being chosen for the Leadership Maryland class of 2012 is a great honor,” says Dion. “I look forward to learning more about Maryland politics, education, businesses, health care and non-profits. This is also an opportunity for me to share my experiences of growing up on the Eastern Shore, promote the City of Cambridge and Dorchester County.”
The Cambridge International team is proud of Dion’s accomplishments and that he has been chosen for this distinctive honor.
